Enhancing the Irish Women’s Writing Network 1880-1920 Website: Data Capture, Digitisation, Visualisation
The Irish Women’s Writing (1880–1920) Network was established in 2016 to connect international scholars in the field. The current project aims to enhance the digital capacity of the Network’s WordPress-based website. Although the site has developed through collaborative effort, further digital expertise is needed to transform it into a comprehensive digital repository. This repository will support networking, information sharing, and access to out-of-print materials and scholarly data. A key component of the project involves datasets cataloguing Irish women writers featured in 19th-century periodicals, with potential for future expansion. The goal is to deposit this data in an open access, stable, searchable repository while maintaining data integrity. The project also explores the possibility of using the Network’s website itself as a platform for hosting such datasets.
In this video, CLS INFRA TNA Fellows Kathryn Laing and Geraldine Brassil discuss the TNA Fellowship project: ‘Enhancing the Irish Women’s Writing Network 1880-1920 Website: Data Capture, Digitisation, Visualisation’.
